The Bryce Fire, Friday night.

Bryce Fire aerial from Air Attack

Bryce Fire burning near the communities of Pima and Eden, Arizona.
Today, resources continued work to improve and hold line as high winds and critical fire weather lingered over the fire area most of the day. Engines are patrolled the perimeter as they checked for any heat sources possibly remaining along the fire's edge. Pockets of fuel continue to burn within the fire's interior producing visible smoke to some nearby communities. Some resources have been designated to provide initial attack for both the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management and the Bureau of Land Management.
Another Red Flag Warning is forecast for Wednesday for southeastern Arizona to include Graham County and the Bryce Fire.
All SET notifications were lifted on Monday. Due to public and firefighter safety, Bryce-Eden Road along with River Road at the US 70 remain closed.
Stage 2 restrictions now in place in southeastern Arizona on state, federal, and some tribal lands. For the Department of Forestry and Fire Management the restrictions include State Trust land within Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, Pima, Pinal, and Santa Cruz Counties.
Gas and power companies are working to repair infrastructure damaged in the fire. There have been no reports of damaged or destroyed structures.
The Bryce Fire started Wednesday, May 7, within the Gila River bottom near the communities of Eden and Pima. The fire was 80% contained on Thursday, but on Friday high winds caused the fire to spot over a nearly 30' containment line on the north side.
