Fuels are primarily timber (litter & understory) and brush with isolated patches of open grass. Fine dead fuels, timber litter, and 1000-hr fuels are the main carriers of fire. Live woody shrubs are available for consumption.

Fire behavior is mainly smoldering and creeping. There is no intense or scattered heat near the perimeter. No growth is expected.

Outlook
Planned Actions

Monitor hotspots on the northern perimeter of Snag. Direct attack will be used if the hotspots threaten containment lines.

Suppression repair is nearing completion, but specific repair points are still incomplete.

Creeping and smoldering fire behavior with no growth is expected.

Remarks

Transfer of command from CIMT Great Basin Team 6 to local Type 3 IMT will occur at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Weather Concerns

Monday, temperatures were in the low to mid 70s with humidity in the low 20s. Winds were calm across most of the fire with some
southwest winds gusting to 10 mph on the ridges. Skies were clear with smoke continuing to hang in the valleys.

Tuesday temperatures on the fire will be around 70 with humidity in the upper teens. Southwest winds will increase and gust 15-20 mph in the afternoon. Wednesday and Thursday each have over 90% chance of a wetting rain.
