Current Situation: Firefighters continue to extinguish hot spots within the perimeter of the fire. The repopulation of residents is ongoing, with zones being released in phases to ensure safety of public and utility agencies. Numerous calls for service have been received from communities that have been repopulated. The Infrastructure Group is being utilized to assist Public Works with the clearing of roadways and opening of storm drains. Fire Suppression Repair is nearing completion. Resources are staged strategically in La Cañada along the western flank of the fire, ready to respond to any new fire starts or fire activity within the current footprint.  

Weather: Very critical fire weather conditions are expected to continue tonight. A Particularly Dangerous Situation (PDS) Red Flag Warning is in effect until tomorrow at 10 a.m.. Dry conditions and Santa Ana winds are expected to continue through Thursday.   

Damage Assessment: Damage inspection teams have completed inspections for 99% of all structures within the fire perimeter.

The entire Angeles National Forest and San Gabriel Mountain National Monument are temporarily closed for public safety and the protection of natural resources through Friday, January 24, 2025, at 12:00 midnight. This closure is tied to critical fire danger. During this time, the following acts are prohibited within the Angeles National Forest and San Gabriel Mountains National Monument:

1. Going into or being upon the Angeles National Forest. 36 C.F.R. § 261.52(e).
2. Being on any National Forest System Road within the Angeles National Forest. 36 C.F.R. § 261.54(e).
3. Being on any National Forest System Trail within the Angeles National Forest. 36 C.F.R. § 261.55(a).
