Mendocino NF Fall 2024/Spring 2025 Prescribed Fire Projects

Firefighters from the Upper Lake and Covelo Ranger Districts as well as forest fuels crew Module 8 successfully completed 59 acres of prescribed burning in the Bartlett Springs area. This project marks significant progress to reduce fuels and prepare the site for reforestation as well as future broadcast burning. Smoke impacts have been minimal and confined primarily to the Bartlett Springs/Long Valley area. Today and tomorrow crews will be mopping up and patrolling the unit.
