Cedar Creek Fire Smoke Outlook, Aug 30-31

Cedar Creek Fire
Publication Type: News 08/30/2022

Smoke Oakridge may have some smoke in the morning again with downslope air flowing down the Salmon Creek drainage. In the afternoon light winds flowing up-valley will likely result in smoke production enough to affect areas east the fire. Waldo Lake may have fairly heavy smoke in the afternoon into the night if smoke near the surface of the fire does not get much lift like what happened on Monday. Crater Lake may receive some smoke from the Rum Creek fire to the southwest. Other locations further from the fire should not be affected by smoke from this fire.
Health and Safety Message Most healthy adults and children will recover quickly from wildfire smoke exposure. But certain people are at greater risk including people with respiratory or cardiovascular diseases, children and older adults, pregnant women, people of lower socioeconomic status, and outdoor workers. Please take precautions if you are at-risk.
