Pioneer Fire Evacuation Level Update 08-22-2024

As of 6:00 pm today, August 22, 2024, Chelan County Emergency Management will reduce the evacuation levels for the Stehekin Valley from Adam’s Point to High Bridge to a Level 1 . This change in evacuation is in response to the reduction in fire threat from the Pioneer Fire. Keep in mind that although the fire hazard has reduced, the fire is not completely out.

There will be a community meeting in Manson on Wednesday, 5:30 PM at the Manson High School. The meeting will be streamed live on the Pioneer Fire Information Facebook page. Please submit questions in advance to 2024.pioneer@firenet.gov or via Facebook Messenger. 
Pioneer Fire Evacuation Level Updates: Along with the new Level 3 from just north of Moore Point through Stehekin, evacuation levels changed down lake as well today. They are being downgraded.
Chelan County Emergency Management has issued a Level 3 evacuation notice for the community of Stehekin effective 8 a.m. Sunday July 28, 2024. The Level 3 applies to the area from just north of Moore Point through the Stehekin Valley, including the Stehekin Landing and west to High Bridge.

Evacuation Levels, going down lake: Beginning at 8 a.m. on Thursday, July 25Level 2: Extends through the Stehekin Valley, including the Stehekin Landing to High Bridge.
Continuing hot, dry weather, and worsening fire danger conditions have prompted forest officials to expand campfire restrictions across the entire Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Stage 2 Fire Restrictions go into effect on Saturday July 20, banning campfires across the forest, including developed campgrounds and designated Wilderness areas.
