Evacuation Status Update: Effective immediately, all of the subdivisions in the READY and SET status from the Blue 2 Fire will be lifted.

Order Number: # 03-08-24-0001 Lincoln National Forest officials have increased the fire danger rating to ‘very high’, and will implement Stage 2 Fire Restrictions beginning Thursday, May 30 at 8 a.m. due to increased fire danger across the forest. The fire danger rating and restrictions will apply to all three districts. 

There is a new closure order issued by the Lincoln National Forest, Smokey Bear District. The restricted area is National Forest System lands, roads, and trails within and around the Smokey Bear District on the Lincoln National Forest.

As of 1030 on March 23, 2024 , there is a temporary flight restriction above portions of the White Mountain Wilderness area. These restrictions are necessary to ensure firefighter & public safety by keeping the skies clear for emergency personnel. ALAMOGORDO, N.M, May 22, 2023 – Effective Wednesday, May 22, 2024, the Lincoln National Forest has issued a closure order for several trails within the White Mountain Wilderness Area on the Smokey Bear Ranger District.
