The Soap Fire was reported on the afternoon of Dec. 15 in the Bradshaw Mountains about three miles west of Black Canyon City. The fire started in a steep, rugged area with limited access. The fire has burned in high desert brush and grass on BLM and state lands. The fire was mapped at 930 acres. Increased acreage is due to more accurate mapping and includes growth from Tuesday night. Fire is now 90% contained.
