The Bowie 1606 wildfire is 100% contained at 142 acres. The fire burned earlier this afternoon with moderate to high fire activity in grass/timber fuels. When the fire first started, one structure was threatened and was quickly saved. Two Texas A&M Forest Service dozers were requested to contain this fire, and worked alongside Simms, DeKalb, and New Boston Volunteer Fire Departments.
