On Saturday, March 15, Texas A&M Forest Service received a request for assistance for a wildfire in Gillespie County on Lower Crabapple Road. Aerial resources and ground crews are responding to the fire. The fire displayed extremely active behavior, spotting, torching, and crowning in tree line. The fire pushed heavily by wind towards Hwy 16 with heavy smoke, limited visibility. The fire moved across Hwy 16 at and was held at FM1631 later in the evening.
