As moisture moves into the fire area, the flaming phase will decrease. The smoldering phase generally produces higher amounts of particulate matter. This smoke is closer to the ground as it lacks heat to raise into the air. Smoke dispersal is predicted to be "poor" on Monday.
BEAR CREEK:
Heaviest smoke concentrations will be in Weminuche Creek, north of US 160.
Moderate smoke impacts to South Fork, Pagosa Springs, and Bayfield - particularly in the morning hours.
Minor smoke impacts to Ignacio, Navajo Lake, Saguache, and Farmington, NM will occur overnight, but dissipate during mid-morning hours.
