Bean Complex Wildfire Fact Sheet Sunday, July 17, 2022 at 10:30 a.m.
High relative humidity yesterday kept fire behavior to a minimum. Afternoon showers crossed the Complex and reduced fire spread potential. Some surface and subsurface hot spots remain scattered all across the Complex and will continue to creep and smolder deep in the duff layers. Showers continued through the evening and overnight, with totals ranging from about .70 inches on the western edge of the Complex to about .25 on the eastern edge.
Cool and dry conditions prevailed over the Bean Complex area yesterday with passing high clouds and prevailing westerly winds. Temperatures were in the 60s to lower 70s, with relative humidity down into the upper 20s and 30s. This weather allowed some limited fire spread. A return to wetter conditions is expected today, as the next weather system moves into the region from the southwest bringing increasing shower chances during the afternoon and into Saturday. Rainfall amounts of 0.25 inches to 0.50 inches are possible.
