An emergency area closure has been put in place for the safety of the public and firefighters suppressing the Davis Fire in southwest Reno, Nevada. All road, trails, develop recreation sites within this area are closed. The closure boundary runs along the Hunter Creek Trail to the north, Nevada State Route 877 (Franktown Road) to the south, the Forest’s boundary to the east, and U.S.
Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest Further Reduces Emergency Closure for the Davis Fire 09-19-2024

Effective immediately, the USDA Forest Service has further decreased the emergency area closure order on the Davis Fire. Any National Forest System lands within the fire footprint will remain closed. This includes Forest Service roads 41040, 41041, and 41727, as well as the Ophir Creek Trail.

Sparks, Nev., Sept. 13, 2024 – Effective immediately, the USDA Forest Service has decreased the emergency area closure order on the Davis Fire. The north and west boundaries of the closure have been reduced to Thomas Creek Road and the eastside of the Mt. Rose Wilderness boundary on the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest’s Carson Ranger District.
