Pending favorable conditions, the Seeley Lake Ranger District plans to conduct prescribed pile burning to reduce hazardous fuels and restore healthy forest conditions and wildlife habitat. Pile burn operations will take place in the Westside Bypass project area, Seeley Campgrounds, Seeley Lake Ranger District Office, Monture and Guard Station.  Operations could begin as soon as October 28th, 2024.
The Lolo National Forest, along with their interagency partners and neighbors, is preparing to implement fall prescribed fire projects across the forest. Prescribed fire is part of the Forest’s annual fire management program to reduce hazardous fuels, improve wildlife forage, and create conditions which minimize impacts from future wildfires around our communities.
Yesterday was a successful day of prescribed fire operations across many of our districts, work will continue today and throughout the rest of this week, pending conditions. 
The Lolo National Forest, along with their interagency partners and neighbors, is preparing to conduct spring prescribed fire projects to reduce hazardous fuels, restore wildlife habitat, and create better protection around communities from future wildfires.
