All evacuation levels are being lifted as of 10:00 A.M. today, October 14, 2020.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is removing all evacuation levels in Marion County following close consultation with fire management officials. There may be some roadways in the area that are closed for inspection and repairs. Up to date information on closures can be found by visiting tripcheck.com.

EVACUATION ALERT LEVELS REMOVED 9:00AM on 10/14/20

All areas of Linn County under evacuation levels are released from any previous alerts or notifications, effective 9:00AM on 10/14/2020. This includes all areas of Linn County near Gates, Idanha, Stahlman Summer Home cabins, and Marion Forks.

The Willamette National Forest remains closed to the public at this time, updates can be found at https://www.fs.usda.gov/willamette/.

The Oregon Department of Forestry - Santiam State Forest remains closed to all persons, including hunters and those wishing to recreate.

Highway 22 is now OPEN for eastbound and westbound traffic, however the speed limit is lowered to 40 MPH, and motorist are advised that delays may occur as flagging crews and debris cleanup efforts are still taking place. Información General: Esta será la ultima actualización con el equipo del noroeste 8 (NWIMT8 en inglés) con el comandante Kevin Stock.  Dos organizaciones locales del tipo 3 tomaran el cargo el jueves 10 de octubre a las 7 am.  El comandante Jonah Gladney asumira la administración de las tierras del bosque nacional Willamette y de la Gerencia de Tierras Publicas dentro del incendio Beachie Creek.  El comandante Jeremy Goers asumirá la administración las tierras del bosque nacional Mt. Hood y de la Gerencia de Tierras Publicas dentro del incendio Riverside.  Todas las tierras del estado y privadas bajo la protección del Departamento Forestal de Oregón regresaran a ser administradas por el distrito del norte de Cascade.

General Information: This will be the last update from Northwest Incident Management Team 8 (NWIMT8), with Incident Commander Kevin Stock.  Two local Type 3 organizations will assume management on Thursday 10/15, at 7:00 am in the morning.  Incident Commander Jonah Gladney will assume management of the Willamette National Forest and Bureau of Land Management lands of the Beachie Creek Fire.  Incident Commander Jeremy Goers will assume management of the Mt. Hood National Forest and Bureau of Land Management lands of the Riverside Fire.  All State and private lands protected by Oregon Department of Forestry will return to the North Cascade District for management. 

NWIMT8 would like to take this opportunity to say “thank you” to the communities, cooperators, agency staff and firefighters for the unwavering support during our management of the Riverside and Beachie Creek Fires.

Field work on both the Beachie and Riverside Fires continues to be repairing of fire lines, patrolling and mop-up when conditions allow.   Recent winds and rains can weaken trees, increasing the danger of them falling. There is a high interest from the public to use much of the fire area, but area closures are in place, which is necessary for the safety of firefighters and the public. Wet roads create unsafe driving and working conditions for all.

State Hwy 22 is now open, with reduced speed limits. Expect intermittent stops as mitigation work continues.

Weather and Fire Behavior:  Light showers and winds are expected again today and will give way to higher pressure and more seasonal weather.  Temperatures will rise and winds will subside over the next few days creating better conditions for firefighters to access the fire area and complete suppression repair work. The recent wet weather will keep fire behavior to limited creeping and smoldering.  Wet conditions can make it difficult and unsafe for firefighters to continue fire suppression repair work.

ODOT Opening Hwy 22 E

ODOT will be opening Hwy 22E tonight at 7pm. Here's what they want you to know.

- Highway will open to the free flow of traffic for the entire length

- The speed limit will be reduced to 40mph between Gates (MP 33) and Pamelia Creek Road (Mp63)

- There is still a good deal of work to do to fully open the highway and travelers should expect delays throughout the burn area

- Utility companies continue to work throughout the corridor cutting trees and repairing power lines as well as ODOT

- In addition to on-going work zones, there is damaged guardrail, roadside hazards from log decks, slash piles from hazard tree removal operations as well as the potential for falling rocks.

- Please drive with caution.

General Information: Field work on both the Beachie and Riverside Fires continues to be repairing of fire lines, patrolling and mop-up. Area closures are in place, which is necessary for the safety of firefighters and the public. Recent winds and rains continue to weaken trees, increasing the danger of them falling. Wet roads create unsafe driving and working conditions for all.

Weather and Fire Behavior: Showers and winds are expected today and will give way to high pressure and more seasonal weather. Temperatures will rise and winds will subside over the next few days creating better conditions for accessing the fire area and completing suppression repair. The recent wet weather will keep fire behavior to limited creeping and smoldering. Wet conditions can make it difficult and unsafe for firefighters to continue fire suppression repair work.

Riverside Fire: Heavy equipment and suppression repair work will still be limited by recent rains but a drying trend will increase opportunities after today.

Beachie Creek Fire: Heavy equipment work will be accomplished if conditions allow. Hand crews remain to work on fire suppression repair work where it is safe to do so.

Riverside Fire: Firefighters were cautious of the muddy conditions that rain created yesterday.  Work will be limited by the same conditions today.   

Beachie Creek Fire: Heavy equipment work has been limited.  Hand crews remain to finish fire suppression repair work where it is safe to do so.

Información General: La lluvia persistirá el día de hoy. Para el lunes, el área del incendio otra pulgada de lluvia. Las crestas recibirán vientos con velocidades de 20 millas por hora y ráfagas de 25 a 30 millas por hora. Se anticipa que la actividad del fuego será mínima dado a la precipitación reciente. No hay operaciones de vuelo planeadas dado al clima actual. Los bomberos de Canadá regresaron a casa hoy y nuevos recursos tomaran su lugar. Bomberos determinaran como van a regresar a su trabajo después de la lluvia y el viento de ayer. Arboles debilitados continúan a ser una preocupación con el viento en camino. Los equipos en el área serán vigilantes de posibles deslaves y erosión que puedan ser un peligro. Se le pide al publico que también sea vigilante cerca de cualquier área quemada.

Incendio de Beachie Creek: El área del incendio esta muy mojada para el uso de maquinaria. Equipos a pie y camiones de bomberos seguirán con las reparaciones donde no es peligroso y es apropiado hacerlo.

Equipos de Reparación y Rehabilitación: El equipo de Estabilización y Reparación de Emergencia (ESR en inglés) de la Gerencia de Tierras Publicas (Bureau of Land Management) y el equipo de Respuesta de Emergencia al Área Quemada (BAER en inglés) del Servicio Forestal de los Estados Unidos están evaluando el área del incendio y preparando un plan de reparación. Estos programas están diseñados para acudir a los problemas de estabilización de emergencia ocasionados por un incendio forestal.
